It's a hypochondriacal world in which we live in y'all. It helps to be ahead of your game.

I remember a trip to Korea when I was in my teens. Everybody knows their blood type.

Haven't you ever given blood?  I thought people were informed of their blood type when they did so.

For a long time, gay men in Canada were not allowed to donate blood.

I was aware of that.  And that it has only fairly recently changed.  So, does this mean you've never given blood?  What about blood tests for diagnostic purposes?

I have never donated blood. I had a phsical about fourteen months ago including blood work, but I can't remember my blood type.

I'm assuming then that if you or your doctor needed the information for any reason, it would be in your medical records.

Is blood type included in regular blood work? thus on one's chart? It has never come up in any test results I have received. Never thought to ask.

It's important to know as one can at least get them started looking in the right direction should one need it desperately

Only time I had a peek  was when tested  and based on result was on placed call for an Ex Pat in Philippines who was in dire need ....As there is one of the A's that is  non existent in locals, it was urgent to test Ex Pats .. Obviously I was his type, but I  I forgot whether + or -

Just searched & found A- is almost non-existent there, so I guess I'm an A- (less frequent here too, but still about 6 % in N America)
